Sobre un sepulcro liso a ras de suelo se sitúa una única escultura de mármol de un hombre semidesnudo, a tamaño natural, que con un pico cava un hoyo en el suelo, en el acto de cavar de su propia tumba, simbolizando que desde joven hay que ir preparándose para la muerte. Es una copia del Memento Homo con que Clarasó ganó la medalla de oro en la Exposición Universal de París dos años antes. Otra copia se encuentra en el Cementerio de Zaragoza, en la tumba de la familia Aladrén (1904).

On a smooth sepulcher to evenness of soil there places the only sculpture of marble of a seminude man, to natural size, which with a beak digs a hole in the soil, forthwith of digging of his own tomb, symbolizing that from the youth it is necessary to go being prepared for the death. It is a copy of the Memento Homo with which Clarasó gained the golden medal in the Universal Exhibition of Paris two years before. Another copy is in the Cemetery of Saragossa, in the tomb of the Aladrén family (1904).
