A wonderful gay oasis
Its is true that the LGTB community is more
than noticed in Sitges. To prove my point, you only have to take a stroll on a
summer´s day around the Plaça Indústria and the surrounding area. In relation
to its´size, it could be argued that the LGTB community in Sitges is one the
most visible LGTB subcultures of a town, worldwide. This is something that
should be celebrated because Sitges has an international reputation for being
one of the most open towns with respect for both sexual and gender diversity.
It is therefore understandable that many LGTB folk come to visit Sitges in
order to fully live their sexual indentity without discrimination, something
they may feel cannot be done in their place of origin.

Un maravilloso oasis gay
Es bien cierto que la comunidad LGTB es más
que visible en Sitges. No hay más que pasearse un día de verano por la Plaça Indústria y alrededores para
corroborar éste hecho. Se podría afirmar que, en relación con su tamaño, Sitges
tiene uno de los mayores índices de visibilidad del colectivo en el mundo. Esto por supuesto es algo que deberíamos
celebrar ya que Sitges tiene fama internacional de ser uno de los pueblos más
abiertos y que muestran más respeto a la diversidad sexual y de género. Es por
ello que hay que entender que muchas personas LGTB vengan a visitar Sitges para
vivir su identidad sexual sin tapujos, algo que no pueden hacer en sus lugares
de origen.
